Summary: So, So -- Read One Hundred Years of Solitude Instead
Comment: This book is comprised of several short stories. Only one of them is very good: the one about Blacaman -- the good magician. The rest are mediocre at the most. La Candida Erendida itself is pretty dull and doesn't add anything of interest to One Hundred Years of Solitude. Garcia Marquez has much better books. I'd definetively read 100 Años de Soledad or Del Amor y Otros Demonios instead.

Summary: An intriguing story full of symbolism and creativity.
Comment: Continuing with similar threads from his other works, Nobel Prize winning Garcia Marquez presents the story of a young girl obligated to prostitution by her heartless grandmother. Interprations could be taken down a number of roads. A bit depressing at times, but grabs the senses. Keeps interest up. I enjoyed it.
