Comment: This book contains a well-organized series of articles by individuals who have international renown for their reseach in the field of dynamics and control. Several of the articles represent substantial progress in our knowledge of uncertain systems, nonlinear systems and their applications to understanding physical and societal problems of topical interest. The book is divided into 3 section, of which I found the last one, on applications, fascinating. These latter papers show that mathematical analysis can indeed shed considerable light on our understanding of society and the environment.
