Summary: A good starting point in acoustics
Comment: This is book presents the reader with the essential knowledge required for the understanding and study of several acoustiscal phenomena.
Starting with an introduction to basic mathematical tools - both analytical (complex variables, fourier analysis, asymptotic analysis) and numerical (FE/BE approaches , ray tracing).
The second part of the book is dedicated sound generation by unsteady sources and deals, amongst other issues, with flow and propeller/helicopter generated sound.
The third part deals with wave modification and such topics as sound-bubble interaction and nonlinear acoustics.
To summarise, I think that this volume is a welcomed addition to the library of anyone with a serious interest in aero- or hydro- acoustics.
