Summary: Great for serious tourists or future London residents
Comment: This is a great book for those who either want to discover human side of London (as opposed to tourist one) or just consider moving there.
First, it has a good account of central neighbourhoods (villages) with lively essays about each of them. These essays are not dry, yet informative. They are in no sense complete research, but instead give you a good feeling about diversity of London.
Second, this is one of few books that provide an inside look at Londoner's everyday life: parks and gardens, interiors, places to meet and socialize, and, as a bonus, chapter about places for men (clubs, shops, pubs).
Third, Visitor's Guide section provides you with useful addresses and phone numbers, though it is in no way complete or comprehensive.
Fourth, photographs are very good, numerous and thoroughly selected which, combined with high quality of printing, gives you a very pleasant reading (or even glancing) experience.
One word of warning: authors seem to be too much affiliated with Terence Conran, famous British designer, therefore you should view their opinions about his work (development, design etc) with a grain of salt (that's why I gave this book 4 stars, not 5).
Overall, the book is a worthy possession for those who like London and want to know more. I would even recommend it to locals. I wish I had equivalent book for Seattle.
