Comment: A friend of mine loaned me her copy of Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood: Practical Parenting from Birth to Six Years, and now I'm buying my own! This is a great book and I can't wait to get started using it with my child. He isn't quite 2, so I have some time to practice using the "uh oh" song! It's easy to read and understand. This book is a must for all parents!

Summary: Indispensable! BUY THIS BOOK!
Comment: This has been the most valuable and useful book we've read - and we've read many, many parenting books thus far. Very compassionate approach to teaching and discipline for the young child. I totally disagree with the reviewer who said that this book is not for those seeking an attached relationship - Jim Fay specifically addresses the attached relationship a child needs to feel trust and confidence in the world. I have to wonder if we were reading the same book! And as for the reviewer who feels that this book offers nothing new from the original "Parenting With Love & Logic", I couldn't disagree more. I read the original a couple of times and was always left wanting for specific discussion and examples to address the young child...and I got it with this book! Worth every penny - apply these techniques accurately and consistently and you will be a much happier and more effective parent!

Summary: For All Teachers Too
Comment: When I was teaching school, the first book was good but this one is right on the money. Birth to six years is the most crucial part of setting a good foundation for parenting. My pre-kindergarten kids needed more than I could offer. They were running the classroom by pure manipulation. After buying this copy, things made more sense. More than ever before early childhood rules and guidelines need to be instilled in homes and classrooms. Two other books which has not only helped me but the other friends who are still teaching are: Raising Resilient Children by Brooks and Goldstein, and a family book with creative and down to earth tips from many parents, Mommy-CEO by Jodie Lynn. Each one of these authors including the Fay family, have earned their right to the title of MASTERMINDS in early childhood help.
