Summary: Short Course in Sony DSC-F707 Photography
Comment: The book gives no information about the camera that is not in the manufacturer's manual. However, I prefer it to the manual because the print is larger and because the pages are contained in a spiral binder. The book also contains useful, although elementary, information about photographic techniques.

The book comes with a CD that duplicates the paper version, and that CD makes it worth the price. The CD is in Adobe PDF format, so it is a simple matter to move from one topic to another. That feature is often needed since cross-references abound.

Summary: good book, but in black and white
Comment: The book is well written and I think it's good for such newby in photography as myself. It also goes in details and were well explains "whys" and "hows" of Sony DSC-F707 and photo technics.
The most annoying thing is that the book is printed in black and white and you can add $30 for cartrige which you'll have to waste to print it in color from the PDF.
Is the price too low to print the color version?

Summary: Maximize your use of the Sony DSC-F707
Comment: Simple, but extensive review and instructions on how to use every feature of the Sony DSC-F707 digital camera. Although the accompanying CD-ROM is redundant (text, color photos of the spiral bound book), it may be a nice additional feature for those who prefer reading instructions on a screen. I've had 2 Sony cameras in the past (DSC-F505V most recently) and bought this book in anticipation of buying the F707. I just purchased the F717, but have already used many of it's features to advantage simply by reading the Curtin book.
