Summary: A great overview of using VB for testing
Comment: Software tester's interested in using VB for software testing and who don't have extensive experience with VB will find Mary Sweeney's book a wellspring of information. Applied correctly VB has powerful potential as a test automation package. Sweeney points out many uses of VB for testers from the very basic to the more advanced topics of working with COM and testing databases. The text has many useful tips and examples that Sweeney has taken the time to explain in detail. It's obvious from the text that Sweeney has exhaustive experience with VB and testing. As the only book available on VB from a tester's viewpoint it's a must-have for anyone using or thinking of using VB for test automation. Highly recommended.

Comment: Using Visual Basic, one of the most economical language platforms (in terms of cost and learning curve), Mary Sweeney guides us through the world of automated software testing. I found this book to be well documented, clearly written and easily accessible by a beginner like me. There are useful examples and tester's tips throughout the book that help me understand the key concepts. The added essays are particularly insightful for someone new to the field of software testing. This book is a great reference and a solid springboard for software testing. I highly recommended.

Comment: This book is exactly what the title says: an introduction to Visual Basic for testers. It succeeds wonderfully at that.
It is not a book about testing. If you already know VB and want to know how to test your application, there are a few chapters near the end that you will find useful but this book is not really intended for you.
