Comment: You probably won't get a raise in 7 days just because you read this book, but it helps to have someone explain how your boss ('power') sees the issue of a raise ('money): how to talk money to power. The authors also provide some useful information on patterns of compensation and the whole psychology of HR departments. Recommended (but don't expect a raise, ok?)
