Summary: Out of the frying pan into the fire
Comment: While it is nice to someone admit that the LaHaye/Lindsey rapture cult is based on fantasy rather than the Bible, Rushdooney's dreams of a fundamentalist political state are actually worse. The worse that we can expect from Left Behinders is a massive glut of bad fiction and bad Bible studies. The Rushdooney crowd wants to force us all into their fantasy whether we like it or not. The Kingdom of God is a spiritual communion, not a theocratic police state.

Summary: Our call is to victory, not loss
Comment: "Thy Kingdom Come" is a wonderful treatise on the call to arms, and that call is not one destined in loss. As Joshua was promised victory in Canaan in the fulfillment of his commission to take the Promised Land, so too we are promised victory in the world in the fulfillment of the Great Commission to create disciples of the nations. We are not told to "give it a try and I'll come back for you when it's too tough," rather "Go, ye therefore (as all power is given unto Jesus) and make disciples of the nations."
Is God's arm too short that He cannot make the mission successful? "Thy Kingdom Come" should serve to harden our wills toward His.
