Summary: What a waste of time (26 years!)
Comment: Although not a waste of money! This book (the comments) was written by a non-scholar, in a pseudo-scholarly way. His translation is questionable (to say the least), the historical inaccuracy shows that he is not interested in history, nor were the geographic annotations checked on a map.
IT IS however a compendium of what most people (English or Americans, or Anglo-philes) who are into new age believe to be a good interpretation of Nostradamus' work. So it's quite amusing. But remember: Nostradamus was French, not American (only quite recently discovered) or English!
It does contain a good transcript of the original texts, which is a plus for people who know French.
What's really disturbing about it is the bias the writer overtly displays towards certain 'political' interpretations (the bush administration will be regarded as one of the most beneficial influences on mankind for centuries to come, apparently) which I find slightly exaggerated.
In short: the author's comments are not the result of years of research but the result of years of self-indulging, non-critical, self-opinionating thought. A shame, all that wasted time. BUT I 'm having a good time laughing, waiting for an objective book about Nostradamus to come out.

Comment: I picked up this book knowing very little backround of Nostradamus or his language. That being said, I had to rely on all the actual English. Basically, Big Mr. N has had tons of bunk prophecies and a few that hit the bulls-eye in a way that's hard to deny. The author rambles on occasionaly, giving us his opinion of decoding big N's quatraints, but fails to impress. If anyone is actually looking for predictions that are YET to come, do not waste your time- anywhere. These prophecies I doubt will ever be able to be deciphered so as to predict a coming event.

Alright, for everyone out there that thinks he is nothing, i've got an assignment for you, I want you to predict some things, and see if ANYTHING comes true. Nostrdamous had hundreds and hundreds of prophecies come true. He Cured 3 cities infected with the Black Death!! I Doubt anyone out there, making fun of nostradamous can cure 3 cities with the Black Death, back in the mid 1500's! No prescriptions, he had to make herbal mixtures to save people! THAT is nothing? Lots of People were accusing him of using the devil, but Nostradamous was very religeous! He Predicted many deaths, of when and how and of who! Is THAT vogue? Yea, some of his predictions are wrong, but thats what he saw! Its called being honest, even though you might not like honesty, he wrote what he saw. He saved many lives, so for all you haters out there, learn more about all the things he did, helping people.His wife and 2 kids were killed, and he still helped people! He was a Messanger of God , the BEST prophet ever. Some one said Isiah is the best, but did he save 3 cities? After Michel saved one of the cities (it took 9 ,months) they paid him for all his work. What did he do with the money? Give it back to the less fortunate......
Even if all of his prophecies arent correct, many of them were correct, he saved many lives..
