Summary: The Christmas Wish
Comment: I think The Christmas Wish, by Angela McAllister, is a great Christmas book for children.
This book is about a little girl named Tilly. She was staring out her window on Christmas Eve and she saw a shooting star go right pass the moon, so she made a wish. Suddenly, there was Santa on top of her roof. His sleigh crashed and bumped into Tilly's door. Tilly went to meet him and helped gather presents. When they came to the snow babies on their way out of the church crib, Santa gave each one their present. Tilly helped Santa deliver each present for every child who was good. Then after they were done with delivering the presents Santa had a big midnight feast. Santa's time was almost up and when he was about to leave he pulled out a present for Tilly. It was a baby doll. As Santa and Tilly were going back through the church crib she laid her baby in the manger. When they returned to Tilly's garden, all the reindeer were still there. Tilly kissed Santa goodnight and up and away he went!
I think that this book can teach children that their dreams and wishes could really come true.

Summary: The Christmas Wish
Comment: The Christmas Wish, by Angela McAllister is a book that puts anyone in the holiday spirit. The book is filled with overly-cute pictures illustrated by Susie Jenkin-Pearce. Reading this book reminded me of the main little girl in the story, Tilly, being me when I was younger. Wishing for snow, waiting for Santa, and being filled with anxiety waiting for at least 8 AM to roll around.
Tilly, the little girl in the story is filled with excitement as she waits for Santa to come. A shooting star shoots by and she wishes for snow. A second star comes and she wishes again. But on the third wish, Santa comes, and the snow doesn't. He arrives flustered with things to do and he asks Tilly to help. Soon all the snowmen, snow babies, cherubs, and reindeer are helping Santa out.
The book skipped all over the place a couple times and I got lost once or twice. But besides that the storyline is adorable and so are the pictures! Definitely a good story to get in the Christmas mood with your child.
