Summary: Much needed book
Comment: Clearly the "genius" from Oklahoma skipped Dick and Jane (why bother) and went straight to the Complete Works of William Shakespeare in the 1st grade. If there was a political bias, our "genius" clearly didn't pick up on it.
For the rest of society, an early introduction to the constitution is a much needed book to get kids interested in goevernment and politics from an early age.
The book offers the original constitution and a modern day translation article by article. It raises issues for discussion when the original language is intentionally vague and provides a great teaching and learning tool for the home or the school.
This book should be required reading for all middle schools.

Summary: But I'm not sure I could have done better
Comment: Only two deficiencies I can see. (1) The militia is continually confused with the National Guard - a federal organization that didn't exist until one and a quarter centuries after the Constitution was written. (2) Ms Travis apparently can't distinguish between a restrictive clause and an independent phrase. Considering her task, though, I'm willing to cut her some slack: I'm selling my copy to a mother of two school-age daughters, rather than trashing it.

Summary: CONSTITUTION TRANSLATED FOR KIDS
Comment: This book is an excellent resource guide for all school-aged children, and adults as well! The author took a very important document and put it into language that everyone in today's society can relate to.
It should be in the hands of EVERY school child in America!
