Comment: My Dad bought this book for my younger brother (14). After my Dad read it, he realized that it would give me a chance to understand how males are challanged in their pursuit of purity. It really blew my mind to see how guys think! Unbelievable! I think all girls should read this book so they will not be in the dark. They also need to read it so they can help their boyfriend or husband seek purity.Once you read it, you will never leave your copy of Victoria's Secret or Elle laying around where your boyfriend or brother can get his hands on it! Buy it! Read it! Give copies to your friends!

Summary: No more pretending...
Comment: I have been leading a small group of about ten guys on my floor through this book. Not one of us have gone through our teenage or college years untouched by the trappings of pornography, masturbation, or other sexual temptations. It is time for the church to stop pretending that sin struggles do not exist in the lives of its young men and women and begin to address these issues on the head. Otherwise, our young people are left to find the answers in the world because no one else will talk about it with them in specific terms they can understand and relate to.
This book is a candid peer-mentor discussion between the author and, in a sense, the reader. Steve and Fred hold nothing back from their own lives and, while many of their experiences were difficult, they do a great job of refraining from too graphic while not shying back from the specifics of their struggles. This makes the reader feel as he can relate with the author--dealing in generalities is not an option when it comes to this topic, even if it is often uncomfortable to discuss. The book also brings in a lot of humor which is quite helpful at breaking the tension.
Arterburn and Stoeker ask tough questions, fill their readers with the Word of God, and most importantly, leave the young man with the knowledge that he is not alone in his struggle. The ten guys in my small group have really opened up with one another and are determined to see a change in thier own life as well as the lives of their peers.
Parents and youth workers: buy this book for your young men and get some dialogue going with them, you may be surprised at what you find out (then again, I hope you're not as you may have also struggled with these very issues). More importantly, talk to your young men about sex--where else would you want them to be learn about it? This book is a great follow-up and will address a whole assortment of issues that you may not feel comfortable covering or may not realize are there.
Young men...it's time to make a change in your life and step into the fullness that God has for you in the area of your sexuality. It is a gift from God that we must valiantly protect and uphold--our integrity is on the line. Join the thousands of young men across the country and around the world in the battle to uphold your sexual purity. Starve the sumo!

Comment: The book might help you get over porn addiction but it will certainly help you become a self-righteous fundamentalist. In one instance the author chastises a friend for NOT noticing the sexual innuendos in a movie. So who went home justified? The Pharisee or the Publican? He also blames women for wearing short skirts.
This book, like religion, will make your life more difficult and happiness elusive. I regret buying this book.
