Summary: Interesting approach to qigong
Comment: I read this book in some detail. I dont know Master Bond at all. Just did a critique and tried a number of the exercises. They are deceptively simple, but to my amazement they actually work !. I have tried all forms of qigong, but this one is the most satisfying. Because they are simple, it is easy to write them off as being useless because normal Tai Chi and Qigong forms are so complicated. Master Bond illustrates movements which even an old-timer can follow, that allow the mind to follow the movement and hence the path of Chi. I recommend that folk try this. Sometimes simple is beautiful, which is the way qigong was meant to be until it started to get packaged and merchandized.

Summary: Thank you Master Bond
Comment: I have read Master Luk Chun Bond's book, THE FIRST 16 SECRETS OF CHI, FENG SHUI FOR THE HUMAN BODY, and attend his classes held at Kapiolani Park in Honolulu, Hawaii. I am an asthmatic, with asthma which was so severe at one time, that I had difficulty walking and climbing stairs, and spent a lot of time in hospital emergency rooms, awaiting medical treatment to help me breathe easier, sometimes being admitted to the hospital by emergency room doctors. Because CHI KUNG is a form of breathing power therapy, learning how to breathe deeply and properly has helped me to strengthen my lungs and I no longer need to take my daily asthma medication, nor do I experience asthma attacks which require hospitalization. The most dramatic event which occurred and proved how beneficial CHI KUNG has been for me was when the elevator broke down in a high-rise building in downtown Honolulu, where I work part time. All of the elevators were shut down as a result. The building security officer allowed those of us who had to get to work on the upper floors to use the back stairs. My office was on the twenty-first floor of the building and I was able to climb those flights of steep stairs with only one small rest stop, arriving at my office with no breathing problems. Thanx to CHI KUNG, today, I walk miles to get to places I need to get to without having to stop to catch my breath and climbing stairs is no longer a burden for me.

Comment: I bought the book and was loaning it out to friends at our workplace and finally bought a second copy. Master Bond's description of his grandfather's, then father's background and training is very important to understanding the man. I bought it after reading several of the 5 star reviews. It has totally turned around my high blood pressure and is now helping my diabetes II. It has given me a new insight into helping my body as it ages. The ease with which anyone can understand his descriptions and the various exercises is amazing. His explanations of T'ai Chi being a combination of external Chi Kung (known as kung fu) and Internal Chi Kung (breathing power therapy) and Feng Shui (earth and sky chi life force)and the central nervous system of the human body are significant to fully understand why this is so easy and so positively influencing to the body, especially as we all get older.
