Summary: GREAT INSIGHTS ON SATISFYING SEX!!!
Comment: I admit that it took me awhile to wrap my mind around the concept of Sex being Sacred, but Gardner does a great job of explaining "What was on the mind of the Creator" when God designed sex in the first place and gave it to His children as a gift. Very practical material for helping couples achieve a mutually satisfying sex life. Good discussion questions. A worthy ready for any married -- or soon to be married -- couple.

Summary: NOT the same old stuff
Comment: This is a GREAT book that is NOT something you've read elsewhere. As a matter of fact, I have not seen the fantastic insights in Sacred Sex ANYWHERE else, and I've read plenty of books on the subject. If someone actually took the time to read the book in its entirety, they would find that the focus of Dr. Gardner's argument is that for true Oneness to occur inside the bedroom, it MUST occur outside the bedroom first. Even more, they must understand the depth of the spiritual oneness in the act of making love that God built into the system. It's new. It's right. Read it. Apply it. It will change your marriage.

Summary: Nothing new under the sun...
Comment: I guess my colors are showing. I've obviously read too many books on this subject because I did not find anything new here. Just a warning for heavy readers like me. If you think you probably should not get another book on this subject, but are tempted by the hope that this will finally be the one that "solves" all your problems or "answers all your questions", or even if your just looking for a good, uplifting read, don't bother. Chances are you'll wind up with another book laying around the house like me that you wish you hadn't bought. It isn't that that the book is awful, it just isn't ground breaking in my opinion. So be forewarned. And while I would agree with the premise that the "Big O" should not be the primary focus, I think the quest for the other "Big O" of oneness can lead to just as much disappointment. Maybe, the whole concept of expecting so much from the sexual experience in the first place should be examined. I believe it should be exclusive and guarded and has it's merits and spritiual meanings and ramifications as do all areas of life, but it is just a part of life, not life itself. I think we have made it an idol. And thinking that it has some mystical quality to bring Oneness will only disappoint. Oneness is meshed out on the anvil of life more than it is in the bedroom. In fact, the oneness probably should come first outside the bedroom, and then the physical consummation of that oneness will take on its full meaning in the physical realm.
