Summary: Twenty Life Transforming Choices Adoptees Need to Make
Comment: Sherrie uses her own experiences as an adioptee to lead her readers to an understanding of typical adoptee experiences. The book is enlightening to all members of the adoption triad, as well as professionals, family and friends. While not every adoptee may experience all the reactions, it is important to take note of the possibilities.

The feeling of loss of control over one's life is a common issue. The question of why birth mom "didn't keep me" to how did I get these adoptive parents both deal with control, or lack of it. The natural reaction is to either feel powerless or to look elsewhere for power. Adotive parents willing to discuss and listen are one of the best supports an adoptee can have and what every adoptee deserves.

Summary: A Must Read for Adoptees
Comment: "Twenty Life Transforming Choices Adoptees Need to Make" should be read by anyone touched by adoption and should be "committed to heart" by each adoptee! This book shows the adoptee how to regain control of his life and to make choices that will bring the peace for which he has been searching.

Sherrie Eldridge does an excellent job of presenting choices that will empower the adoptee to rise above "adoption loss." It is a no-nonsense approach that touches the adoptee right where he is and allows him to rise to new heights.

As the mother of an adopted teen, this book allowed me to feel in a very small way what my daughter feels. And it allows the adoptee to realize that she is not alone---other adoptees are feeling the way she does. But it doesn't stop at validating present "feelings"---it give very direct comments on how the adoptee can "soar above" and take control of her life.

I recommend this book to anyone touched by adoption.

Summary: Much Needed Inspirational Book for Adoptees
Comment: As an adoptee, I never felt rejection from my adopted parents. However, after 60 years I was in contact with some birth siblings. There was total rejection on their part. In God's divine plan, Sherri's book came to me the very week I had been turned away by one sister. This book is an inspiration for all adoptees whether or not they are able to reunite with their birth families. It gives a great deal of insight into how to deal with the feelings of rejection and how to turn those thoughts into acceptance through the love of Christ. It really helped me through the season of tears and rejection and I was able to look beyond that to once again know that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and there is a definite purpose for me on this earth. Thank you Sherri for this wonderfully poignant expression of love.
