Summary: Suspense at its finest
Comment: Sara Walsh is living her present with an all too real threat from the past. As the daughter of an ambassador, she was at risk. The memory of the abduction of her and her twin sister lives on in her mind and the the threat of the kidnapper who still stalks her has made her a prisoner in her own life.

When a twist of fate lands her in an elevator with Adam Black, ex footbal star, things change. Adam is instantly aware of the connection they share and with the help of their faith, he is detemrined to have a life with Sara.

The couple are faced with more than their share of obstacles, but the they share two common bonds; love and their faith in God.

Though this is an inspirational book, it will appeal to all readers who enjoy a true romantic suspense. The characters are so vivid you should be able to reach out and touch them.

Dee Henderson has a writing style that carried her story so smoothly you won't know it isn't happening to you. I am awed by her ability to write a story so emotionally charged and yet gently inspiring. I recommend Dee Henderson as a a writer everyone will enjoy for as long as always. Danger in the Shadows is a remarkable book. Truly remarkable.

Summary: A Great Read
Comment: Make sure to read this book on a day you aren't busy, because you won't be able to put it down once you start it, I know I couldn't. The main character is a woman named Sara Walsh who lives in fear of being found by the man who kidnapped her when she was a young child. She meets and falls in love with former pro-football star Adam Black. But there are a lot of problems for the two to solve before they can live "happily ever after." The book is fast paced and draws you in very quickly. The story is suspenseful and stays that way until the very end. It will keep you turning pages until there aren't anymore to turn! The two main characters are charming and have flaws all of us can identify with. But my favorite character in the book is Sara's brother Dave, who has become her protector and who is the one person Sarah has been able to depend on. (He reminds me of my brother.) I can't wait to read his story in The Negotiator!

Summary: Henderson's absolute best (to date anyway)!
Comment: I really think this is Dee Henderson's best book to date. I read the first three O'Malley books before I read Danger in the Shadows. I was 250 pages into the book before I decided Danger in the Shadows was better than The Negotiator. But, it is. So, if you like The O'Malley Series, you will love this book.

Danger in the Shadows is the story of Sara Walsh (Richman) and her brother Dave (who plays a prominent role in the O'Malley Series). Sara and her twin sister were kidnapped when they were children. Sara survived the ordeal, but her sister did not. So, Sara has been living with a ton of guilt her whole life. She also lives in fear - of the dark, and of the man who still stalks her. All this, her whole life, takes place under the smothering blanket of FBI protective surveillance.

Enter Adam Black, retired pro football quarterback. He and Sara fall in love, but she has a hard time letting anyone get very close. Not only is her past haunting, her present is so encumbered by security that forming relationships is almost not worth it. So, it's an interesting relationship from the beginning. The tension of the situation is well written.

We also see the depth of brotherly love and protection Dave provides for Sara. He has devoted his life to her protection. Yes, he is as imprisoned by the past as his sister.

The book is very well written. Henderson handles the kidnapping very well. She gives the reader just enough detail to explain the trauma without developing the situation into something distasteful. Most of what the reader deals with is Sara's reactions to the past after she becomes an adult.

The theological issue, if you can call it that, is the tension between trusting God and fearing the unknown and uncontrollable. Henderson has dealt with this struggle superbly.

I highly recommend this book to every reader. Whether one is a Christian or not, I think he or she will greatly enjoy this book. I personally find it refreshing to read a book with no profanity. Henderson's books are great that way. Enjoy!
