Based for the most part on primary sources which are easily assessable at the end of each entry, the book has complete cross references and alphabetical table of contents. More than 200 entries are topped off at the end with 29 selected writings from Washington's papers that are arranged chronologically.
Here is a historian in complete command of primary sources and the literature of the period; indeed, the reader is in the hands of a master who knows his craft and his subject. If you have ANY interest in George Washington, this book is a must for your library.
