Summary: What no ADO??!!!
Comment: I have not read this book. I would not buy it as it does not(apparently) cover database access with ADO ...which I would have thought would now be the prefered method? Having said that, the other methods probably work just fine.

Summary: Warning: Requires Visual J++ 1.0 (not 1.1) !
Comment: I'm only at page 60 (I bought this book today). I use Visual J++ 1.1, but this book was designed using Visual J++ 1.0. Already the earliest examples won't compile, because they build on a certain COM object that changed in version 1.1.
To be able to compile the examples, you need to follow these steps: After using the Java Type Library Wizard on the dao2535.tlb (the authors used dao2532.tlb) and understanding the examples, you have to rewrite the samples by studying the summary.txt in the dao2535 directory.
