Summary: Quite a Fine and Useful Book
Comment: I rate the book only four stars because the author seems a little biased towards bilingual education which I feel is misguided.

But, other than that, the author presents to the reader an easy-to-read format about the issue of assessing linguistically and culturally different students for special education.

Since I studied second language acquisition in university, I was still impressed that the author could adequetally present linguistic theory to special ed teachers, which is the audience. In America, special ed and ESL (English as a second language) is artificially divorced from each other rsulting in special ed teachers (which I am) that don't readily understand the needs of studens with limited English profiecency.

Also, the author gives great models and templates to the reader for gathering information, reports and other information about students. I will probably keep this book for my library.
