Summary: This religious humor is really funny!
Comment: I just found out about this little hilarious book from a friend and enjoyed it very much. It's not corny like so much of so-called religious funny stuff. It has some fun with small town people and Methodist and Baptist and Presbyterian congregations. The stories are alot of fun to read!
Rating: 4
Summary: Hilarious tales by a "Christian Garrison Keillor."
Comment: Noted author of nonfiction (THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF TELEVISION, CABLE, AND VIDEO and others) has written his first fiction collection of funny stories. The tongue-in-cheek tales gently tweak mainstream religion and small-town America. The characters are wonderfully eccentric and charmingly down to earth. They range from drunken midgets to oddball farmers and early feminist grandmothers in midwestern settings. The author tells us about pigs that learn to pray and potluck dinners that got all screwed up, in a delightful style reminiscent of Garrison Keillor. Readers have raved about this first effort and are anticipating his next book, which is titled THE CHOIR THAT COULDN'T SING and Other Comic Tales. Submitted by R. J. Weller
