Summary: Simple things you can do... nothing radical!
Comment: Despite what some of the reactionary right-wing "reviews" indicate, this book is NOT filled with radical and nefarious plans to undermine society. It is filled with simple, honest ways to get involved in the political process, like writing your congressman, talking to your neighbors, volunteering for a candidate, encouraging people to vote -- the stuff that REALLY scares right-wingers.

The right-wing hate machine wants to keep citizens OUT of the process so they can be free to further plunder the US treasury, drain YOUR social security funds, and promote worldwide hegemony, all in the name of "fighting terror."

This book is about doing your small part to counteract the "dirty tricks" of the RNC with the one thing they can't stand: truthful discussion and honest campaigning. But on the other hand, this book is completely non-partisan, in that every technique and idea could apply to any political party or cause you care to support. It's about restoring democracy in America, period.

For the record, I bought this book and have read numerous selections from it, unlike many of the kneejerk negative "reviews" on here posted before the book was even available.

Summary: Great Inspiration for Participatory Demoncracy
Comment: For those depressed by the fact that the 'ordinary' person has little influence in today's government, this book will dispell that notion and outline what every person can do to see that our country benefits all Americans. Should be required reading for every high school and college student - and for anyone who feels their voice is never heard. To those who denigrate this book, consider the source - these persons do not really feel America should be a democratically run society. They are truly the unpatriotic Americans.

Summary: Get involved!
Comment: MoveOn.org has compiled an awesome book! This is such an enjoyable and easy read, and can basically be read in one sitting. The collection of submissions and categorization of such are well done. This is one of those kinds of books where I'll ensure easy access to, since I have no doubt that I will refer to it quite often. I also would encourage just about any individual, regardless of age, to read this book - you will be inspired to partake in the democratic processes of governing.

Way to go MoveOn.org!! Please keep publishing these kinds of books, for they are in dire need of being made available to the public.
