Summary: This book makes absolutely no sense!!!
Comment: For a book that's supposed to be about telling time, the story has absolutely no concept of time. In a contrived effort to bring in various forms of transportation to the story, Mickey Mouse spends over 2 1/2 hours in transit -- ONE WAY -- obstensibly to get some food for Pluto, but even that element of the story is ignored in a digressive jaunt to orbit and the moon, and then subsequently to a deserted island.
Somehow, we (the reader and the child) are expected to believe that Mickey takes an hour to get on the road, travels by train for an hour, by plane for an hour -- and he still doesn't get to the market! He then eats lunch with astronauts on the space shuttle (on the ground, even though the illustration depicts floating food), blasts off, fixes a space telescope, makes it to the moon to collect moon rocks, makes it back to Earth -- all in the space of 3 hours. Then he miraculously makes it by boat from an island back to the city's market in under 2 hours. And finally, in a last gasp of illogic, he's back home within 1 hour.
While this book may be visually appealing and have a nice props in the moving clock hands, I advise avoiding it at all costs. It may hurt your brain.
