Summary: Great Read-tells the tale
Comment: This book comes from years of research. It is a great effort for Mr. Deitche. Rarely has a book devoted to organized crime paint a crime family in such accuracy, born from an era of violence, exerted control over the wiseguys' Vegas before Vegas (pre Castro Cuba), eclipse in the same light when cosa nostra was at its peak and faded off into the sunset.
It is all there-line by line. The tales of greed, money and political corruption. This book, because it is based on facts and doesnt lead the reader to speculation, will make heads roll in Tampa. From the crime family's "Cuban wing" ensuring votes to members of the actual Cosa Nostra (Trafficante) crime family rarely looking out from behind bars. A crime boss, Santo Jr., who was more cagey than his contemporaries to the current boss LoScalzo painting the image of a misrepresented businessman, which differs from the FBI's take.
I believe in time that this book will be archived under Florida history. Much of this has been forgotten, from the era of blood to the day of the genuine Cuba gangster and will now be here for generations to view. A fine read which introduces either forgotten or unknown characters as Harlan Blackburn and his homegrown "Cracker Mob" gang.
A fine read indeed-the strength is on the research and tireless effort of the author, rechecking his facts and painting a whole picture. I wish you could give 10 stars.

Summary: Boring book
Comment: I purchased this book a few weeks ago and it is poorly written and extemely boring compared with other books in the genre. Also, the book is rife with typos and other errors. I think the editor must have had a third grade education.
