Summary: This book is sweet and intense. Not meant for kids
Comment: In Inu-Yasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale, Vol.4 there are two main stories. First Inu-Yasha, and Kagome take on the Thunder brothers. Hanten and Manten. This deadly dynamic duo have taken five pieces of the Shikon Jewel, and are killing both humans and other demons trying to find more Shikon Shards to increase thier powers. This leads to the most deadly and intense battle Kagome and Inu-Yasha have ever fought, as they recieve some "help" by a young fox demon who's father who was killed by the thunder brothers. In the second touching story arc: Kagome is taking summer school sans Inu-Yasha when she encounters a vengeful ghost of a bitter young girl. She died in a fire that she inadvertantly caused after a fight with her family. Now this ghost wants to kill her younger brother (who is recovering in the hospital), because her mom saved him but didn't know she was home, therefore didn't save her. Kagome sets out to bring peace to this young spirit before her bitterness sends her to hell. If these stories sound dark, intense and mature..., your right, they are. Takahashi's trademark wackiness and romance is definately there, but it takes a back seat in this series to the intensity and maturity of the series. The scene where Kagome helps the young spirit find peace is beautiful and the only reason I didn't cry is because I'm a guy, and a prideful one too. If your looking for a good gift for someone who has a taste for something a little out of the ordinary, but of unparamounted excellance (That means it's the best.). Check out This series, Then check out the rest of Rumiko Takahashi's series. Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, One Pound Gospel.

Summary: Yet Another Excellent Manga By Rumiko Takahashi
Comment: This book is a definite MUST-BUY for all Rumiko Takahashi fans, like me, or even just a manga fan. The story is interesting and it was easy for me to get hooked on it. Ever since I've been introduced to this manga, I have also given it to my friends to read and they all loved it. Before you read Inu-Yasha, though, you might also want to consider buying Ranma 1/2 to get you into the manga spirit. Ranma 1/2 is also by Rumiko Takahashi. It is easy reading, hillarious, and another MUST-BUY. I've read several reviews before I wrote this and Inu58 had mentioned an Inu-Yasha translations site, for those who want to get ahead and read their way up to book 13, which is what Japan is up to at this moment. The page is an excellent information site for new inu-yasha fans and those loyal fans who have to go through a painful week of waiting for a new translated chapter. For those who only know Pokemon, Sailormoon and Dragon Ball, I will have to say that ALL of Rumiko Takahashi's works are way better than any of those other manga. Unlike those, Rumiko Takahashi actually includes funny scenes and excellent drawings instead of tasteless humor and bad artwork.
So, try this out (you may want to start with book one) and you are guaranteed to enjoy it as much as I have!

Summary: ONE OF THE MOST COOL BOOKS!!
Comment: This is a really awesome book. Especially with the thunder brothers--Hiten and Manten--who kidnapped Kagome. Inu-Yasha is forced to fight not only to keep the shards, but to hide a secret I think even his own heart was keeping from him, by saving Kagome. It's sweet with the scenes and the tension between the strong, Shikon-Jewel-souped-up, full-demon Hiten against Inu-Yasha; Shippo, as little as he is, trying to help; Kagome trying to set some memories right with the little one. Even though our hero is only half-demon, he is--as one of the chapters says--a half-demon is better than one.
Pacifing the angry soul of Mayu gives you a chance to see Kagome's really strength and determination. Guess Inu-Yasha does need her, huh? (And not just as a shard detector) Though you don't see him nearly as much in this little story of the book, he's still a big focus.
This one deserves 5 stars; you can call me bias, don't care.
(By the way, will somebody ever slap Hojo with a stick of knowledge? Because if someone says they slapped him with a stupid stick, I'd disagree. I'd still disagree if they said he was beaten with it. I'd say he had a severe fall down the whole dang tree!!!)
