Summary: Oil, Power & Empire, Iraq and the U.S. Global Agenda
Comment: This is the best book of its type i've yet come across. Very complete, detailed, highly readable. Makes one mad, but it ends on a somewhat positive note, indicating some cause for hope. The author has fully documented all facts and allegations.

Rating: 5
Summary: U.S. foreign policy in a nutshell
Comment: Before I started reading Oil Power Empire I had knowledge of the various topic areas but not the detailed analysis or keen insights outlined in this book. Now I feel more confident when I discuss Iraq because I am clearer on the historical background, both politically and economically. I like the way Everest cites the facts. It enables me to theorise on possible future political outcomes. This book is for every American that is seeking an intelligent understanding of foreign policy in Iraq and wishes to participate through solutions based on standard principles versus global domination.

Summary: A good exposure of the real nature of the battle
Comment: Larry Everest, an excellent journalist who previously wrote a chilling expose of the Bhopal disaster, has done it again, exposed the economic and political background behind the rich man's war against the people of Iraq and what it shows about the "global agenda" of the U.S. rulers who seek to use their phony baloney "war on terrorism" to impose their domination on the people of the world at the point of a gun, overthowing governments, occupying countries, and utilizing a double standard to try to disarm other countries, while maintaining the hughest arsenal of weapons of mass destruction imaginable--more than 10,000 nuclear weapons in the hands of the government which is the ONLY one ever to drop nuclear bombs on a city of civilians--and to have done it TWICE! The brutality of the occupation of Iraq, the vicious crime of the prior economic sanctions which caused 5,000 Iraqi children to die, month after month after month, are displayed in stark relief. When is the New York Times going to run biographies of even ONE MONTH's worth of these children?--run a biography and photo of each one, day after day, like they did with the people who died at the World Trade Center? Larry Everest's book goes beyond the vulgar blaming of just Bush for all this--it is the existing economic and political system of imperialism that he shows is the cause of this, and he shows how no mere "regime change" of electing some other phony baloney politician will make any difference. Bush, Dean, Clark, Nader, all are ultimately puppets of the rich who dance to their master's tune and back up the same rotten system. Larry Everest's book is powerful ammunition for all of us who are increasingly saying, here in the belly of the beast, Not In Our Name! and standing with the people of the world--from Iraq to Afghanistan to Nepal to the Phillipines to Iran and to Palestine-- in their struggle for justice and freedom. Buy three copies of this book. One to read, one to give to a library, and one to give to a local school!
