Summary: I love this book!
Comment: I got this book from the library to see if it was worth the money & I can tell you it is! Before seeing it in this book I saw a finished quilt that was very similar to the broken bricks pattern. The lady told me that she had already made 5 of these quilts which were quickly claimed by friends and family so she was finally making a 6th one for herself. She said some of them had been used on patios and looked beautiful so she wanted to do the same. I have bought enough fabric to do at least 3 of these for myself, mother and mother-in-law. I've started and it seems to be going together rather quickly.
I also love the triangles pattern, but I think I'm going to wait until next summer when I have more time for piecing all of those triangles together.
This book is one you'll want to have in your collection for sure. Even if you don't buy fat quarters you can buy 1/2 yard cuts and cut them in 1/2. Then you have enough to do 2 quilts or trade with someone else & it's cheaper to buy your fabric that way too.

Summary: Perfect book for fat quarter-aholics!
Comment: I just got this book yesterday, and already love it and can't stop flipping through it. I am a beginning quilter, who has already developed a fabric obsession (especially for quarters). I'm hoping to use this book to make some quilts by Christmas. The patterns seem easy enough for a beginner, but like they would still be fun for someone more advanced.
Each pattern uses six fat quarters plus background and border material.
There are eight different patterns, but there are beautiful color photos of three or four different quilts made from each pattern, all lying flat, so you can see some possibilities from using different styles and colors of fabric (some bright, bold, and contemporary, others with soft pastels and florals, etc.) with the same pattern. Most patterns are for quilts with finished sizes of 50-something" x 50-something", but there are some both smaller and bigger.
There is also a ninth pattern for a fat quarter tote bag.
The instructions seem very clear from reading over them, though I have not started to make a quilt with the book yet.
This is NOT a book for brand new beginners; some basic knowledge and experience is assumed. Though, there are some tips and instructions in the back on finishing the quilt.

Summary: Great Book for a Beginner
Comment: I bought this book to figure out what to do with all my fat quarters. I just started quilting about 7 months ago and I have become a fabric addict. This book has some very nice quilts in it and I do think that I could make many of the quilts in the book. If you understand the basics of cutting fabric and sewing it together but you aren't quite ready for something that requires many different techniques, this would be a great guide for you.
