Comment: There was an 18th century book entitled "The Town Parrot", which had a variety of gossip-related short stories and poems. It would appear that the book being offered for sale here is a completely different book by the same title, and it should not be mistaken for the original.

Comment: This children's book about a parrot named Turkey stands out. Most parrot books for children show the parrots doing things parrots would not actually do. This book provides accurate, interesting information about parrots. It shows the development of a parrot from an egg to 7 days, 15 days, and on up to an adult. Diet, behavior, and grooming are also discussed.

The title of the book -- Town Parrot -- reveals that the focus of the book is on pet parrots and not on wild parrots. Turkey lives on the top floor of a house with a writer named Ann. As the author describes a typical day in Turkey's life, much helpful information for understanding pet parrots is provided.
