Summary: Good Read; Great Art
Comment: This book poses the question: What would happen if there was a second Earth that is the direct mirror opposite of our Earth? Morrison, who just ended his writing run on the monthly JLA title, puts his spin on the the Dual Earth scenario without taking any of the homage away from the previous incarnation (Crisis on Infinite Earths, be damned). Quitely is very underrated artist whose work on this hardcover probably helped get him the job to draw a similar-style team book called The Authority. This book would receive five stars if the price wasn't so high for a book that could've looked just as awesome in a prestige-format book. But, if price is not an issue, I highly recommend this book to anybody who doesn't think that comics are for kids..

Summary: Exquisite artwork and interesting storytelling......
Comment: JLA Earth 2 is a graphic novel depicting an evil version of earth and its heroes. There are negative duplicates of the JLA that call themselves the Crime Syndicate of America (hey at least they're patriotic crooks!)
This novel is an adaption/reworking of a Gardner Fox JLA story from the 60s with a few twists and turns not encountered in the original comic books (courtesy of Grant Morrison).
Frank Quitely's artwork is exquisite in that he captures facial expressions and angles normally not seen in American comic books.
A good read but I wish it had a little more action and battles between the CSA and JLA.

Summary: Interesting return for the Crime Syndicate
Comment: I haven't been a regular comics reader I was a teen (in the mid to late 80's). Only recently, thanks to the various places carrying these graphic novels, I have gotten back into reading comics a little bit.
The reason I got this "comic" because it was the return of the Crime Syndicate of America. I only knew of the CSA for a brief time in the 80's because the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" wiped them away in issue #1.
I won't go into the plot much as others have given an overview. But the plot is pretty intereting overall and I thought the art was just fine.
I think those who remember the CSA from the old days will like this story. Those new to the CSA will also like it, but you may want to go online or a comic shop and find some of the older comics deaturing the "old CSA".
