Summary: A real love story with a deep understanding of S&M
Comment: This is basically a good, escapist love story. The author succeeded in making me care deeply about the characters. But their relationship is framed by S&M, and thus intensified. When real violence enters the story, it sets in relief the consensual "violence" of S&M. The book deepened my understanding of the life style, and made me appreciate all over again my own relationship to my significant other. I agree, in a class with Story of O, even though the writing has some rough spots.

Summary: Intelligent, entertaining, and hot!
Comment: Not your average "erotic" book. This is a big, daring, outrageous but respectful novel, very plausible, and you'll come to care very much for the characters. Many syrupy or romantic scenes, but that's not all bad. Kinky, colorful, almost too cruel at times. I think the point is the contrast between the very regimented, carefully controlled "violence" of S & M as compared to the violence in our society. And when an erotic novel makes you think, it's extraordinary!

Summary: Not a good read
Comment: This book was not realistic. It's a insult to anyone who lives this lifestyle. The author makes dominant women mentally unstable and cold hearted.
I know that all stories don't have a happy ending but the ending of this book was horrid.
I don't recommend it at all.
