Summary: Great read for researchers and those into public policy
Comment: Meier examines something that very few in the policy studies field focus on - policy outcomes, not just outputs. Meier's main examination focuses on a very interesting debate surrounding drug use and alcohol regulation. It is his style and method, however, of examining the issues that may prove beneficial to researchers. He includes case studies along with analysis so that the reading does not come across as dry. Finally, whether one agrees or not with the issue, the idea behind morality politics is clearly happening in society today and this should alert others to recognize how policy is framed in debates.
