Summary: believe him - I did and now I'm married to him
Comment: I am the wife of the author of I Was Saddam's Son and believe me when I tell you that everything you have read is the truth. I have seen photographs and documents and scars to prove this. Latif did not tell me who he was when we married and I only found out when I saw a repeat of an interview of him on CBS 60 Minutes. His story is even more fascinating when told from the mouth and I have read this book over and over. Even I was fascinated and horrified of the cruelty meted out by the mosted hated man in Iraq, Oday Saddam Hussien.

Summary: If only 10% of this is true...
Comment: Chilling. The more of this book I read, the more I wanted to know. Saddam has already cemented himself a permanent place in history alongside other despots such as Pol Pot, Lenin, Stalin, and Idi Amin. Uday Saddam Hussein, the elder son, was apparently determined to exceed his father's proclivity toward torture and summary executions when he [presumably] succeeded Dear Old Dad. This is the tale of Uday's "double" and his life before, during, and after his role as a decoy for Iraq's hated tyrant-in-waiting.
If you opposed the Iraqi invasion on political grounds, this may change your mind.

Summary: Loved This Tabloid Tell All
Comment: It's a guilty pleasure. You can't put it down. Written in a tabloid journalistic style. Very interesting and true. It is about the "trauma and shock" this guy goes through because he happens to resemble Saddam's son and is coerced into playing the part. He saw a bird's eye view of this unspeakably evil psychopath dictator and his son's lifestyle, or deathstyle. He goes from perks and pleasure to torture, is reeling between the two and can't escape. Gives a real feel to what life is like in this kind of dictatorship hell. A psychological thriller and lesson for all.
