Summary: I HATE TO DO THIS, BUT.....
Comment: I suppose it's unethical for an author to review his own book more than once, but after that last comment I felt I had to respond.
This book is published by Loompanics Unlimited, a company with strong Libertarian leanings. By Libertarian I mean the owner, employees, most of the authors (including myself), etc., believe in self-reliance and self-sufficiency. We acknowledge that people sometimes need a helping hand, but when they do they should seek it from family, friends or non-profits, not Uncle Sam. We also recognize what most Americans refuse to see: that the federal government does far more harm than good. We seek to use legal means to reduce Washington to the purposes it was originally intended for by the Founding Fathers. We believe that what a person reads, what they ingest into their body, how they make a living, their viewpoints, who they sleep with, etc., are purely their own affair, as long as they do not violate the rights of others.
I am proud to be associated with Loompanics, and encourage all freedom loving citizens to visit the company web site at www.loompanics.com. Especially recommended is the book "Cover Your Tracks Without Changing Your Identity." Also visit www.lp.org.

Summary: Best book ever written
Comment: OK, I am the author, so maybe I am just a wee bit prejudiced! Actually, the book is about something children of all ages have wanted to do: build a catapult and hurl stuff through the air. My brother and I successfully did so with material and parts available from virtually any hardware or home improvement store.
We cover safety considerations as well and provide some interesting ideas for ammunition, such as bricks and pickle jars full of tacks (OUCH!!). If you ever wanted to build a catapult and have fun with it, then this is the book for you.

Summary: If at first you don't succeed...
Comment: Well, it's the author again. I am writing to correct misstatements in my past message. I am not an employee of Loompanics, and should not have presumed to speak for the company. The opinions expressed were purely my own, and not neccessarily those of Loompanics or its employees. BTW, I have tried numerous times over the last month to edit my last post, but amazon refuses to post my edited remarks. I have no idea why.
