Summary: An excellet book
Comment: I found this book highly interesting. I teach Spanish as a foreign language and ESL to elementary students, both enjoyed Salsa very much. We searched for the countries on a map, played some of the instruments mentioned, and did a little cha-cha, also. I would recommend it to anyone learning Spanish or English, and to music or dance teachers.The narrative is very musical.

Summary: A wonderful book
Comment: This book is a wonderfully done multi-cultural children's informational picture book. The book is written in both English and Spanish, with the English words written directly above the Spanish ones. The book explains the origin and current traditions in Salsa music. It tells where the music originated as well as what instruments are used to play it, how the dance is done, and where the dance is done around the world. The illustrations behind the text are filled with color and interesting details about the book's subject. The illustrations include maps of the countries, flags of the nations, dance steps and drawings of people playing the instruments. I would recommend this book to anyone who is trying to raise a child who is aware of this world's many cultures, it would also be a welcome addition to any classroom.
