Summary: Recommended for those who need a boost-up in life
Comment: This book has made me cry, laugh, and think about life clearly. It touched my heart to read all those wonderful, soul inspiring stories. When I'm going through a rough time, I know that a good helping of chiken soup will warm me up and help me think over my problems. Reading Chicken Soup For the Soul and A Second Helping has inspired me to read on until I bought your latest book, A fifth portion. Bring on some more helpings!

Summary: Excellent motivating book for "sporadic" readers
Comment: This book is very good for making you think about
the little things in life that make a big difference. It is
especially good for people who have a hard time finding
the time to read books cover-to-cover without loosing
their context. It's basically a collection of short stories where you can read any one in a couple of minutes and get something out of it. Great for reading in doctors' waiting rooms etc. This is also a great gift, I've given away about ten copies and each of those people have given their friends copies. It seems to be universally very well received

Summary: Chicken Soup?
Comment: I read this collection of life stories and events with an admitedly negative attitude toward it because of my dislike of the first book of this collection. Nevertheless, I thought that this volume was even worse than it's predicessor. I don't believe that this book has any literary value to it at all. It most certainly didn't make me feel better about my life. Personally I believe that these events are things that happen to everyone in their lifetime. Merely reading about them AGAIN had even less appeal to me than it did the first time.
