Summary: This book worked just fine for dear old Dad
Comment: I'm reluctant to recommend this book. Obviously it worked just fine for my depressed father. He left suicide notes behind indicating that he believed he had malignant tumors all over his colon. The medical examiner never saw a trace of them. I never found evidence of such in his previous medical records (which were in meticulous order). However the M.E. cited the exact pages of Final Exit which Dad used to do himself in. And yes, it was right up on Dad's shelf. Sure, he had the right. I don't believe that he really believed he was sick - not physically, anyway. I've missed him for years now. I know for a fact that Dad was clinically depressed. I thought he was continuing with treatment. Yeah, the book told him everything he needed to know about saving valium and covering his head with a bag. Now those of us who were left behind get to live with the consequences. Best of all, even though I tell my children that we find this behavior unacceptable I've a fathe! r who demonstrated otherwise. "Bye-bye, Grandad". If you HAVE to do it, fine; get the book and find what you need to know. If the pain is psychological in nature and so great, please seek out help.

Summary: This is an exceedingly boring book
Comment: It will be quite hard to find a book as useless as this one. Mr. Humphrey discussed a list of methods to commit suicide - and his favorite methods invariably include exotic medication that in real world no reader is able to get, or physical activity only he himself considers painless. I can appreciate his promotion of the right to die, but I have serious doubts about the advise he gives in this book. Many suggestions show a total lack of medical knowledge.

Summary: Primitive Overview of Methods to Commit Suicide
Comment: A rather boring book with primitive methods to commit suicide. Although some people will be successful at killing themselves with the guidelines in this book, a lot of people will probably still botch their attempt at killing themselves.
