Summary: A media "kiss-n-tell" book!
Comment: A must-use desk top reference book for nurturing the Media Beast.
Mark Mathis explains his insights into the media world in a straight forward manner -- and no hype -- that even mere mortals can understand. Spiced with personal experiences and humorous stories (often at his own expense), he is able to demonstrate precisely how the media game works and how the Beast lives and feeds. I'm not going to plan another PR event or do another interview without pouring over page 103 again and again.

Read it -- and re-read if often!!

Rating: 5
Summary: A "must-read" for anyone charged with publicity/promotion
Comment: Feeding The Media Beast: An Easy Recipe for Great Publicity by Fortune 500 media consultant Mark Mathis is a straightforward and "user friendly" guide to getting good press in good quantities. Each chapter delineates a "rule" to be followed for maximum advantage when dealing with the world of journalism, ranging from "The Rule of Repetition" and "The Rule of Timing", to "The Rule of Preparation" and "The Rule of Ego". Feeding The Media Beast is very highly recommended as being a solid "must-read" for anyone charged with publicity/promotion responsibilities for effectively communicating with the media.

Summary: One of the Best PR Books out there!
Comment: This is a great read, and a must-have on your short list if you're interested in Media Relations. Mark breaks down his book into easy to digest chapters, with real world examples of how each media rule works. By the time you get done with this book, you'll have it highlighted, with notes and ideas written in the margins, eager to try them out for your cause. Then you'll read it again to see what you missed the first time!

I'm getting ready to return to college and get my degree in Communications/PR. After seeing Mark give a presentation at a luncheon, getting the chance to read his book and taking the opportunity to talk with him, I was convinced more than ever to stay on track. I'm hoping to use the ideas in his book to stun my professors. Thanks Mark!
