Comment: This is a college-level how-to book on the major college survival skill. It gives step-by-step directions to produce a focused, developed, and polished essay which meets the terms of the assignment. The authors are writing for the college student rather than an instructor; they focus on the why as much as on the how of each step. It is much like an intensive session with your composition prof, but at your pace and at your convenience. I found it helpful in my own writing and my freshman daughter said, "Buy one!"
