Summary: Knock Your Socks Off
Comment: Wow. This book is a trip through the stangest places. Starts off like an intriguing detective novel, and then halfway through takes a left turn into horror, truly great horror.

The story is character driven for sure. In fact, I can't get the cast of characters out of my head. I feel I've known these cats all my life. Most are lovable, but some are evil to the bone. Once I got to the part where my favorite character, Sandy Rivet, dives to the bottom of one of the coldest, deepest lakes in the world, I couldn't put it down. This is a jetliner of a read that will keep you up all night. Promise!

Summary: Great Characters In A Unique, Unpredictable Storyline
Comment: J. F. Armstrong continues the "Secret Detective" series with "Sub$ect". Set in a small upstate New York town, the believable but unique characters try to find the furnishings of a lovable "nut-job" who's just been released from the loony bin. The story keeps chipping at the "big picture" -- a conspiracy of some of the vilest, richest people on the planet, but as in "The Asexuals", there's a very readable assortment of quirky folks who either help Sandy, Deepray and Jimmy -- or get in the way! And of course, sometimes the people who get in the way actually provide the best clues!

You'll get to go to a rave in the woods with whacked-out "Goths", take a death-defying dive in Seneca Lake (one of the deepest in the world!) and figure out just how STRANGE people with too much money and too much time on their hands can get. I know it's a cliche, but I really do find it hard to put down -- plus the cover rocks!
