Summary: A personal, entertaining yet heartfelt history
Comment: I have been fortunate to hear many of Father John's sermons in person, and have found that while his sermons are often deeply personal to his own life, they manage to transcend his personal experiences and provide me with an insight into my own life experiences. That he manages to do this in an entertaining yet thoughtful fashion, while exploring the christian tradition, and contemporary society, has often motivated me to go to listen to him preach because I look forward to his sermons so much.

I think this book will be of value to anyone interested in personal growth, the history of the church or simply an interesting well written book.

Summary: Thoughtful & thought-provoking
Comment: This is collection of essays adapted from sermons that the Rev. John Mabry has preached in the past. It is a thought provoking examination of some of the lesser known mystics through the years, as well as, a thoughtful examination of what it means to be a mystic vs. a herectic or misfit. All, interspersed with Revd. John's own self exploration in religion.
