Summary: 5 stars-A LOT OF FUN!
Comment: I like the fact that this guide is "hints only". I didn't expect a complete analysis like in the first book, and not sure why other reviewers had a problem with that. The authors warn you right upfront about it. I think that's ok...it takes some work but I am having a blast trying to figure out the clues. You have to be up for solving JKR's puzzles yourself, but if you are, this is a really cool book! I'm still working on a lot of the clues, but I can see now what Galadriel was saying about Peter Pettigrew's whereabouts and why Percy has been acting like such a jerk. It was so awesome when I saw that. I'm still working all the other stuff, and I can see that there's lots to keep me engrossed until Harry Potter 6! This book definitely kept my interest and it's a really good deal too, considering it turned out to be really a lot more than I expected. I wouldn't recommend it for casual readers, but I'd say it's a must for us "die-hard" Potter fans!

Summary: GREAT! Gives you the Clues you need to solve the mysteries
Comment: I loved Galadriel's 1st book and anxiously awaited the release of "New Clues". I haven't been able to put it down since it arrived..its helping me to decipher the many mysteries of book 5. Keep in mind its hints..not an anaylsis like her first book. But what fun! What incredible insite..I think Galadriel knows JKR! The unique format works well for "Hints"..makes it enjoyable but also easy to go back to find info you previously read. This book is a MUST for the true Harry Potter fan who wants to figure out what really lies ahead!

Summary: Good, but...
Comment: If you read the first of Waters' books, you will be very disappointed in this one. But, if you like to discover the clues yourself, this is the book for you. My personal opinion is that the book is a lazy excuse to get more money, there are sites that have a discussion of the clues online and she has asked that they only talk about 1 chapter a week. I think it's because once everyone has discussed them, she'll go broke because no publicity or attention will be given to the book. I hope she'll come out with another book like the first one.

The book is 88 pages of riddles, and even if you are good at them, some of them are utterly confusing. You have to know a lot of other literature, and some people just don't have time for that. There's a "Recommended Reading" list that will help you with that, and she usually points to which book she's talking about. There's a lot of books on there though-- would take up a lot of time to read them just so you know what she's talking about (if you haven't read already.)

There's sections in the book called "Running Bits" in which there are words like "circle" "bubble" and it can confuse people if you can't see the connection between the words she's saying. And even if you do see the connection, you're sometimes left wondering what the heck that actually has to do with the book. For example, what does a circle symbolize then? She doesn't tell you.

It really depends on what time of reader you are-- if you like to figure out things yourself, this book would be wonderful for you. If you just want the answers, I suggest you find a fansite with open discussion rather than this book. Overall, I personally think it was a waste of money, but other people have loved it! Depends on what type of person you are, just be careful that you are aware what you are buying.

If you haven't read the first book- that is the book I recommend. It was fascinating and full of brilliant observations. Waters' seems EXTREMELY intelligent, it just doesn't shine in the book 5 edition.

Overall, I was very disappointed, but one persons garbage is anothers treasure. Good luck!
