El Cervecero en la Práctica is the translation of the third edition of The Practical Brewer; after 25 years, the fundamental chapters (7 of 24) have remained essentially unaltered, others have been expanded by the original authors and half of the chapters have been totally rewritten by new authors, albeit following the general format of the original chapters. There are also four totally new chapters (Analytical On-Line Instrumentation, Low Calorie and Low Alcohol Beers, Environmental Questions, and Microbrewing). The translation is very good, although there are some typographical errors which are of no great consecuence ("enzimas" on one page, "encimas" on the next). This book would be of great utility to the Technical Director or Master Brewer who would like to have his brewing personnel (specialized in brewing as well as engineers in general, supervisors and workers in the brewing area, as well as, why not, personnel in packaging) all speaking the same language, appreciating the subtleties and knowledge behind that delicate and magnificent brew. It is indispensable as an aid in teaching induction courses to brewing personnel, technical or otherwise, while at the same time being a great adition to your personal library.
