Summary: A biased top-50 reviewer
Comment: Although Hannah, the top-50 reviewer, claims Kellmeyer is not objective, if you check some of her other reviews here at Amazon you'll find that she's not exactly objective either. She's apparently a neo-pagan, perhaps even a Wiccan, judging from how often she talks of "the Goddess" in her reviews, and especially rom the gushing review she wrote of Riane Eisler's "The Chalice and the Blade: Our History, Our Future." She called Eisler's book an "excellent scholarly comprehensive work." Since Eisler's book is a classic example of pseudoscholarship (case in point -- the idea that there was originally a primeval matriarchal Religion of the Goddess is based upon absolutely no hard evidence whatsoever), I'm not at all surprised that she would get so much wrong about Kellmeyer's book. It seems her review of Kellmeyer's book is motivated as much by her neo-pagan religious convictions as Kellmeyer's book was motivated by his Catholic religious convictions. No wonder she didn't like Kellmeyer mentioning the documented facts that Wicca was invented in the 20th century -- and invented by a man, not a woman.

Summary: Exactly Right
Comment: Another reviewer calls this an Ann Coulter type book and that's exactly right. I love Ann Coulter - she calls it exactly like she sees it with wit and style. That is this book in spades. Definitely worth reading.
Rating: 5
Summary: Good antidote
Comment: As any Catholic who has read Dan Brown's novel quickly realizes, it would be easy to mistake Dan's work for a hate-filled tract against Catholics, for every Catholic in both DVC and Angels & Demons are liars, thieves, murderers or worse.
But this book shows that Dan's problems lie not in hatred, but in ignorance. Dan, like many people who take their history from the cover of Time magazine and the pages of Holy Blood, Holy Grail, completely misunderstand the history of the Catholic Church and thus misunderstand two millenia of world history.
"Fact and Fiction in the Da Vinci Code" corrects the errors in a straightforward way. To anyone whose understanding of history is as limited as Dan Brown's, "Fact and Fiction" is like a bucket of cold water - it can be bracing or barely tolerated, depending on how much you want to be awakened.
