Summary: a place to start
Comment: this book is by the military, so you can assume that it's about ten years behind the date on the cover. that means that all the info was developed in the mid 50's. it's a good place to start if you don't intend to splice or maintain kernmantle or use any modern equipment like a griphoist or tirfor. i got my copy for about four dollars out in the real world.
