Summary: Fantastic Advice
Comment: It's about time men had a guide that helps. I'm sick to see how guys dress nowadays. If you have questions on how to do it right, read this book. The clothes checklist is a great start for your job and the real world. It shows what to buy and wear because the grunge look doesn't fly on Wall Street.

Summary: A Good Start - But There are Better Books
Comment: This book is a good start but really only starts to scratch the surface regarding men's style. There's no mention of what style shoes are best, proper ways to coordinate outfits, etc. The book is really quite thin, something like 80 pages or so. It's much more of a pamphlet to help act as a "refresher" course than a full fledged tome where you will get gobs of good information. It's just not in there.

Along with this book, I also bought Gentlemen Style by Bernhard Roetzel and Guenter Beer. This is the book that I keep coming back to. Lots of full color photographs, with names of the best designers and what situations you'd wear their products (work, play, both). This is exactly the book I was looking for. I'd recommend this book over Greenleaf's book, although I consider Greenleaf's book a good "primer". Just don't consider it the only book you should buy.

Summary: Overpriced but good for teens
Comment: Prior to buying this book, I read a review that said it was too simple for real office professionals but good for teens just entering the workplace as a starter guide. I think that is a good appraisal.

So I bought the book as a gift for a teen just graduating from high school.

As a gift for a teen, I am disappointed with the sketchy, plain cover and the sketch quality of the illustrations.

I am also disappointed that including shipping and handling I paid some $17 or $18 and received a book that looks like I paid $2 for it. Therefore, it is not well suited as a stand-alone gift either. This was not a "good deal."

In spite of it's cheap appearance and thinness, the information inside is good for a first, elementary, book on dress and conduct.
