Summary: A strange and beautiful literary experiement.
Comment: This book is like nothing else I've ever seen. It comes as a collection of loose pages which can be shuffled like cards. The reader selects a set at random and places them inside the covers of the book. The resulting stories are miniature narratives which are surprisingly coherent and often quite beautiful. The text is accompanied by perfectly elegant little dada-esque illustrations and the whole effect is strangely haunting, like watching a team of sleeping poets perform open-heart surgery on a clock.
Fans of Borges, Calvino, or the Surrealists will love this.

Summary: A simple, elegant work of art/fiction/poetry
Comment: What an incredibly clever concept. Life in the garden comes with a deck of beautifully rendered pages with stylized illustrations on one side, and a sentence or two on the other. To use it, you shuffle the pages, take out a few, and put them into a little hard cover that comes in the package. Voila, a brand new poetic narrative about the Garden of Eden is ready.
It's so amazing because whichever cards are chosen, in random order, make a coherent and often beautiful story. Really fun and magical.
It's ironic that one of the most effective studies in interactive narrative I've ever seen was programmed in....paper.
