Summary: A must have for designers or manufaturers
Comment: This book is a must have for anyone with an interest or desire to design, manufacture, and market their own sewn products. It's full of excellent information on production, marketing, sourcing, contracting, patterns, and many other useful topics. It includes a step-by-step checklist that covers everything from concept to delivery. Why re-invent the wheel trying to figure this stuff out by yourself? This book is geared to the "design entrepeneur" and the independent manufacturer, which means it was written for people like you and me. I highly recommend this book.
Whether you are a designer , a production house, or in the craft show circuit; this book shows you how to do it RIGHT so you can have a sucessful business that is competitive.

Summary: this book is a MUST READ if you want to succeed
Comment: This book is heaven sent. I wish I had all the informations contained in this book when I started my business 5 years ago. I would be thousands of dollars ahead! Kathleen's book is worth its weight in gold. Finally, someone is taking the small (beginner) designer/manufacturers seriously . This book is a MUST READ if you are serious about, and want your business to succeed. By reading kathleen's book, you will save yourself years of trials and errors (usually costly errors!) Whatever questions you have, more than likely, you will find the answer in Kathleen's book.

Summary: Don't pass this up!!!
Comment: I purchased this book several months ago and have read and re-read this book. Kathleen does an amazing job of really explaining this business. I was so confused on what approach I would take before reading her book, but now I have a lot of the particulars figured out. Like how I'm going to enter the market, how to go about actually getting good patterns made, how to choose the right people to help me make my dream come true. Unlike another book I purchased, this book really breaks down the basics of what needs to be done. I carry it back and forth with me to my current job everyday and constantly refer to it. I now feel I'm at a point where I can actually get started without feeling like I'm on unstable ground. A lot of people will look at the price and will think it's too much, and will opt for a cheaper title. But this book is a small price to pay for the knowledge it gives you. You don't have to go to design school to be a design entrepreneur. This has been the best investment toward my future business yet!
