Summary: emotional genius
Comment: THis book should be a text book for all parents and children in school. Its a manual for how to handle our and other people emotions. It takes the stigma out of all those emotions we try to suppress and hide for social reasons and for fear we are mentally sick. I wish I had read this book a long time ago, it could have saved me a lot of suffering. Thankyou Karla!

Summary: Real Life, Real Advice
Comment: Karla McLaren's work is simply superb. I have been an avid consumer of metaphysical works for many years. Although I've found many of the works I've read intellectually and spiritually inspiring, few have offered helpful advice and guidance on integrating spiritual principles into your real life experiences. Karla starts from the premise that unless you can apply spritual principles and practices to your daily life, it is mainly an exercise for you mind, not your spirit. She explains the spiritual purpose behind EVERY human emotion (even those we often feel obliged to repress because they are "not spiritual") and gives specific instruction on how to channel these emotions positively, healing yourself and others. I can't say enough about this book. It is truly one of the best books on emotions I've ever read...

Summary: THE BEST i've EVER READ ON EMOTIONS
Comment: I've read so many non-fiction books that this past year when I was searching for a fiction book, I had to ask a clerk what section they were in! (Literature, how was I to know?!)
This is THE best book from every angle. It is sequenced just right, you feel like you're covering the material without feeling lost or bored. It's written in laymen's terms, like your best friend is describing the confusing world of emotions. I was so impressed with this book that I flew to Colorado to attend her workshop, and no I've never done that before! (especially two months after 9-11)
Now I can't wait for Karla to come to the East Coast. Karla is just like your friend next door. She will not allow you to put her on a pedestal and she truly shares her 'emotional genius' like a best friend. Thank You, Karla! I hope I get to more of your workshops before Oprah gets ahold of you!
