Summary: for veteran meditators
Comment: Finally, this book gets to the psychological core of Goenka's meditation method. It also includes relevant and very fertile references to jhana practice in relation to his own methods.

Beginners should give this book a miss and go to a 10 day Goenka retreat instead. The book is heavy on Pali terminology.

I have attended many Goenka retreats, including two 20 day retreats and a satipatthana retreat. I was much disturbed by the obtuse presentation of the method's psychological mechanics at the satipatthana retreat. This book has corrected my doubts with a better and fuller explanation.
