Comment: I was blown away by this book. I bought one as a gift for my niece and after looking at it and reading it decided I wanted one for myself. The author and illustrator have done a superb job of writing and illustrating. The author obviously knows her riding and knows children and made this book very easy to understand and read. The illustrations made the writing come alive and was not too involved; making the images easy to color, and showing what the author had just written. I had no idea what this book was like, I bought it sight unseen and when I received it it was just what I wanted. It is not too hard to read and understand and I know it will keep my niece's interest. It is also something she will be able to use as a reference as she gets more into horses because it shows the different and more common breeds. I am so glad I purchased this book.
